Event description

Facilitated by our Programs Manager Robyn Smith and Professor Paul Cohen , you’ll hear from 3 panels of experts who will provide evidence-based information relevant to the hereditary cancer community. These days are intended to be a 'catch all' event where you can collect information about many aspects of hereditary cancer in one place.

If you or someone in your family carries a gene mutation such as BRCA, ATM, PALB2, CHEK2 or RAD51C, or if you have a strong family history of breast, ovarian or prostate cancer, this day is for you!

Event details

This event will include 3 panel discussions and a social activity: 

  • Panel 1 is focused on genetics, mental health, screening and talking to family
  • Panel 2 is focused on risk management options for high-risk indicuals
  • Panel 3 is focused on treatment, fertility and menopause research 

Our panel of experts include: genetic counsellors, geneticist, psychologists, menopause specialists, gynaecological oncologists, breast surgeons, gastroenterologists, medical oncologists, fertility specialists, researchers and you'll learn about how Inherited Cancers Australia supports the hereditary cancer community. You’ll also hear community members share their personal stories.

You are welcome to bring family, friends or a support person. It is fine for you to only attend the parts of the event that are relevant for you.
