Event description

Join Inherited Cancers Australia for a special Melbourne screening of Conquering Breast Cancer, followed by a live Q&A with people involved in the film and members of our community.

Conquering Breast Cancer is a new Australian documentary and part of the global Conquering Cancer film series created by Moonshine Agency. Through stories from people affected by breast cancer, advocates and experts, the film explores progress in breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment, and the work still to be done.

Importantly for our community, it shines a light on the experiences of people living with inherited breast cancer risk within the wider breast cancer story. You can visit the Conquering Breast Cancer website to learn more about the film and watch the trailer.

After the screening, join us for a Q&A with:

  • MC - Simone Busija, ICA Board Director
  • Sarah Powell, ICA CEO, who is featured in the documentary
  • Professor Mark Shackleton, Director of Oncology at Bayside Health Alfred, and Executive producer in the documentary
  • Beck Thomas, ICA Community Ambassador

We’d love you to share this meaningful moment with us and see inherited breast cancer risk represented on the big screen as part of the wider breast cancer conversation.

This screening is open to everyone, including community members, family, friends and anyone interested in the film.
