2025, Tasmania Information & Support Day

A diverse group of people seated in chairs

Event description

Facilitated by our Programs Manager Robyn Smith, you’ll hear from 2 panels of experts who will provide evidence-based information relevant to the hereditary cancer community.

These days are intended to be a 'catch all' event where you can collect information about many aspects of hereditary cancer in one place.

If you or someone in your family carries a gene mutation such as BRCA, ATM, PALB2, CHEK2 or RAD51C, or if you have a strong family history of breast, ovarian, bowel or prostate cancer, this day is for you!

Event details

This event will include 2 panel discussions and plenty of time for networking:

  • Panel 1 is focused on genetics, mental health and high-risk screening for cancers
  • Panel 2 is focused on risk management options for high-risk indicuals, medically induced menopause, research, fertility and menopause

Our panel of experts include: genetic counsellors, psychologists, menopause specialists, gynaecological oncologists, breast surgeons, gastroenterologists, prostate nurses, fertility specialists, researchers and you'll learn about how Inherited Cancers Australia supports the hereditary cancer community. You’ll also hear community members share their personal stories.

You are welcome to bring family, friends or a support person. It is fine for you to only attend the parts of the event that are relevant for you.

If you are under financial pressure, please contact Charlie - charlie@inheritedcancers.org.au to see how we can best support you to attend.
