Event description
Join us for an unforgettable 40km trek along Tasmania’s Bay of Fires and make a lasting difference in the lives of families managing inherited cancer risk. By supporting Inherited Cancers Australia, you’ll help empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to manage their genetic risk, breaking the cycle of inherited cancer, one family at a time.
Your participation will provide life-changing resources, personal support, and a path forward for those navigating cancer’s impact. Every step you take helps transform genetic risk into empowered choices, creating healthier futures for generations to come.
Every dollar raised on this trek will directly support Inherited Cancers Australia’s core services and programs, supporting Australian families impacted by inherited cancer. Your contribution will help fund:
- Inherited Cancer Support Service: free, one-on-one guidance from a certified genetic counsellor—offered via phone, video or email—to help people understand their risk, access care, and make informed decisions with confidence.
- Peer Support Program: free one-on-one mentorship with trained community members who've been through it too, offering practical tips and lived insights to help others feel informed and confident navigating inherited cancer risk.
- Evidence-Based Resources Centre: ongoing development of a comprehensive, expert-reviewed resource hub dedicated to genetic testing, hereditary cancers, and risk-reducing options—ensuring people have access to evidence-based information when they need it most.
- Community Outreach Program: our outreach work creates safe, inclusive spaces for connection, learning, and advocacy. This includes moderated private online support groups, community ambassadors and advocacy programs, virtual and in-person community events.
